The Fabulous HI-LO’s with TWO LADIES IN DE SHADE OF DE BANANA TREE ∽ 1957

Now hear this! — ‘Cause this is my anniversary-aftermath present to YOU, dear readers:

The unique, the inimitable, the sensational four & only HI-LO’s who met TWO LADIES IN DE SHADE OF DE BANANA TREE with Frank Comstock’s high-flying orchestra in 1957.

A description of the album (with the complete liners!) where this fantastic chart was listed as track #7 can be found HERE, at the HI-LO’s splendid website.

My LP-transfer comes from an old Philips compilation entitled “The Hi-Lo’s In Hi-Fi”. It contains one of their greatest hits, Basin Street Blues (@YT), and some other memorable tracks from their 1950’s albums.

The Hi-Lo’s could deliver trumpet-like shakes, and with their seamless switches from bottom to top they often were capable to create a there-must-be-more-than-just-four-singers-around impression.

Wonderful!

I hope you’ll enjoy dose Ladies too *)

Yours truly,
Brew

*) I’m talking ’bout de ones in de shade, of course!.

Blog owner’s recommendation: The track can be found on a two-albums-in-one CD; it can be ordered @amazoom🙂

That’s the cover art of my Philips LP:
