The title of this article is easily explained:
Three horns, almost vibratoless ensemble work, kinda ‘cool’ phrasing on a nicely shaped blues; that’s the mid-1940’s ensemble sound of Ex-Ellingtonian Barney Bigard who recorded this rare gem for the Black & White label on December 29, 1944.
